Don't Touch My Feet!

Today we had a patient who claimed that his heart rate dropped when people would touch his feet due to his neuropathy. Of course we didn't want to test this and risk bradying him down, but I haven't found anything (maybe my googlefu is out of whack.) anyone ever heard of this? True or not?
