I've been trying to find out as much as I can about Doctor's Ambulance and can't seem to get steered in the right direction as to whether or not they are a legitimate route to go for. Would it be beneficial to work at Doctor's over CARE? Is Doctor's circling the drain since losing most of their contracts or are they still a viable company that can provide a good job with professional EMS experience? Based on my research so far, it seems like Doctor's took a huge hit after CARE took over and working there is unfulfilling at best, and I would just like an idea as to how the company is doing and if it would be worth pursuing a job with them? Please let me know, thank you.

why don't you just go in and talk to both companies for yourself.

Care always wins. My advice to all new Emts is apply at Care first. Then work your way down the list of 911 companies and into the reputable IFT companies.

As for Doctors, they're still a decent place to work. They only have Laguna left for 911 and it will take some significant time to get the seniority to bid for those shifts. I think they also do backup 911 for San Clemente. They have one or two good IFT contracts with a couple hospitals. You'll be doing a lot of transfers, With the occasional CCT, and maybe a backup 911 call once every few months.

If you're looking to run 911 calls go with Care, McCormick, or AMR. If you want a job that's at a good company apply at Doctors.

As always in these threads, you're not choosing a career with these companies. Take whatever job you can get first. Do a few months there. Then apply where you'd really like to work.
