diebetes mistaken for alcohol

I think the bigger issue is the Security Guard who jumped to a conclusion, and who's conclusion probably influenced the LEO's to treat the situation as "just another drunk".

Given who the guy is... the charges will almost certinaly be dropped, and he will sue the PD and Theatre for millions of dollars.

It is amazing how much a hypoglycemic crisis can mimic an intoxicated person. I'm sure we have all witnessed it.

And I agree...LEOs need to be educated better about it.

Kudos for someone doing a blood sugar in the field after his alert bracelet was discovered instead of the cops just hauling him off to jail.

But pressing charges against someone with medical problem induced combativeness? There's no way that'll stick.

Well the guy is Mr Universe. I am sure he can find a planet without an extradition treaty.:glare:

Our county protocols require LEO's to get blood glucose on all drunks prior to arrest. Partially to cover their butts on the guy who hasn't been drinking but also because a good way for a diabetic to screw up their blood sugar is to go on a binge, not eat and load up on all that alcohol. You can be drunk AND a diabetic.

which came first? The diabetic or the drunk? Your right.

We've got a black man who is a celebrity that was pepper sprayed and beaten up for the wrong reason. He'll never work another day in his life...lucky sob.

This is actually local to me.

The PD said "Oh, snap! We're sorry!" but the farking District Attorney is pressing forward with CHARGES!!

What a complete and total TOOL.

He will get off in court.
