My emt-b license has been expired for 11 months now. I saw that I can reinstate my license if I have the necessary continuing education hours, but I would need to go through an ems system. I haven't completed any continuing education hours because I haven't been sure where to attend training, and I wasn't planning on keeping my license at that time. I've heard I can do them online or attend workshops/seminars, but I had a hard time finding any when I did a google search. Also, I'm not affilated with an EMS system, and I want to see if its possible to just complete continuing education hours without going through the whole EMT course again. So, where do you complete your continuing education hours? And, how would I go about completing my hours through an EMS system. I am in Illinois.

For online it probably needs to be "live" in a virtual classroom "F5" by CECBEMS/CAPCE. However, you need to clarify that with your state.
You can find a list of providers on their website, but two that I know of are listed below. I have used DistanceCME for two of my 48-hour refresher's and was happy.

Disclaimer: I've only been certified on the west coast and by the NREMT so check with your state
