Hey everyone,

I'm brand new here, and I'm just looking into the field to hopefully work my way up to paramedic to be able to add that to my resume in the executive protection field. I have found several community colleges near me that offer EMS courses (EMT-B, EMT-I, EMT-P) but I was curious if there are other (accredited) places that might offer more condensed courses and more frequent start dates rather than being on a semester schedule like a college. Does that even exist?

Thanks a lot!

There definitely are places like that for EMT-B, unlikely for paramedic though. I did the 18-day "boot camp" at this place and it was fine: https://www.rapidsafety.com/medical-transportation-18-day-boot-camp

You will get a mix of people saying whether you should have EMT experience before going to paramedic school... But the fastest path to your goal is to find a similar accelerated EMT-B class and get that done between now and the Fall, enroll in paramedic school Fall 2018, find an EMT-B job and work during medic school to get your experience that way. You don't strictly need EMT-B experience before going out into the wild as a medic, but you'll sure be glad you have it when you do.
