Changes?

I'm a current EMT B student and I love it. I want to follow this all the way to paramedic. My only concern is Ive heard that being a paramedic changes you you become less sympathethic towards others feeling and can have difficulty relateling to other people.
I just wanted to find out from some actual emt's and paramedics if this is true and what kind of changes different people are talking about and if its worth it?

If you want to pursue a career in the EMS, YOU WILL!!! Do it your style and dont let anyone change you. One person can make the difference and you might just be that person. Always stay focussed and enjoy every moment of it.

Just remember one thing: We are all instruments of God, it is not us that determine life or death, we just assist in the proceedings.

Be the best you can be and one day someone will call you by name!
