Hi all,

I'm an American but trained and licensed as an EMT-B internationally while in nursing school abroad. Any information on the possibilities of challenging the EMT-B exam to get US licensure without having to re-take the whole class?

Not likely to happen. The NREMT would be the definitive source of information on the subject.

You will most likely have to take an Emt class unless you did a program that was sponsored out of the USA.

What country did you do your training in? How long was it?

I had a 3 months EMT-B course in Belize taught by US paramedics who also teach at a university in Wisconsin. We followed the same course agenda as the university but received our licensure from Belize. I've just been trying to find out info on what the requirements would be to sit for a state licensure exam.

Besides retaking your Emt class the only other option I can see is getting in touch with the guys that taught it and see what they can do or you.

Okay thanks. I'll do that and see what I can find out.
