Do you plan to stay in the States and work? Or do you plan on working in Canada?

sorry i forgot to add that in. i would like to train, live, and work in the states.

Pick the state you want to reside in to see what their requirements are and what will transfer from Canada. Some states accept the NREMT and some don't. However, you can still contact the NREMT to see if you can get started with the EMT-B cert.

In that case, as far as I know the PCP designation is not recognized by any state but I could be wrong. I'd assume at the very least you'd have to take an equivalency exam. However I would have to say it'd be best to leave this up to those who know the NREMT and U.S. EMS system to better explain it to you.

Try checking into places like Windsor Ont. we get some students from that area and I know they are able to test out in canada I'm not sure if it works our way but they would most likely know.

are you authorised to live in the US? if not, you're 99% out of luck

have to you looked into Ontario or Alberta for ACP? Both are very good

PCP is equivalent to EMT-I ACP is equivalent to paramedic and EMR is equivalent to EMT-B.

Aren't there any Canadians on here that have trained in the USA?? maybe this thread should be in International EMS

Yes, but of course with some differences in their scopes of practice.
