Hi everyone,
First post here so go easy on me! I was wondering if anyone else is currently in the recruiting for Boston EMS right now? I went through the testing for the first session that they offered in October-took the written test, practical test, interview, medical, drug test etc etc...I had gotten a call from the MD in charge of Occupational Health that there were a couple pages of tests/exams that were missed during the medical for myself and some other candidates.
That was as of Friday and I haven't heard anything.
Does anyone know if and when they will be offering the next academy class? A friend of mine just graduated from the latest recruit class and he hasn't heard anything.
Thanks for your time-Reunion21

You won't hear anything until about for a month or two. The next hiring process will be in March or April with an academy session starting in late July to Early August. I know two people that just went through the most recent class. One graduated and one had to leave toward the end for a medical reason and will be going through the next academy.

The recruiter e-mail links are on the BEMS site too.

There is a class of 44 starting next week.

got the call

Thanks boingo, I got the call this morning from the HR person at BPHC for a job offer...starts the 26th so all is good.

Try again

Just got a call from the head of HR at the Boston Public Health Commission that the recruit class that was supposed to start on Monday has been cancelled due to the fiscal and budget concerns. Oh well!... The only good news was that the group hired through this recruiting session will be the first ones called back when they are ready to do it again in the future, hopefully sooner rather than later. I sort of feel bad for the people who have had to give two weeks notice to their current workplaces and now have to rush back and hope it isn't finalized.

Thanks all-reunion21
