Does anyone happen to know the book used for the 14 day boot camp EMT course at Unitek in Fremont, CA.

I observed yesterday and 75% of the class was from out of state so there is bound to be someone in here familiar with the book.

I completely forgot to ask about the book because I am sure I can get it cheaper online.

I know but if I get it in advance they will take out the cost and it is 120. I am sure I can find it for half that. I should have asked to see someone's book when I was there yesterday.

Anyone have the name, author or ISBN?

no, i almost did. it came down to warrior school(21 days) being mgib eligible, and 1/2 the cost.

i did research it very well tho.

honestly, i doubt i could have done it as easily as i did warrior school. i came from working 12+ hour shifts for 30-50 days straight. the first 2 weeks of the 8 hour classroom days at warrior school was killing me. i had not been in a classroom environment for 8 years.

plenty of people do pass unitek of course.

Yeah I read a couple places that some companies don't hire people from Unitek. I am surprised. I was impressed with what I saw.

Yesterday I met people from all over the country and some had done an EMT program in the past and they really like this one and how hands on it is. They have a whole set up out back with turned over cars and ambulances and they practice out there half the time.

I'll have no problem with the 12 to 13 hour days. It will be rough 14 days in a row but the school part I have in the bag. I am pretty much a career student.

I just need to fit gym time in. And my commute is 45 min without traffic and over an hour in the mornings with traffic. They say we are supposed to study at night. I am not a 4 hour a night person. I need my 8 hours. But the students I spoke to said you learn what you need in class and there is no time to study. I just plan to read a bit of the book before we start.

I have a BSN so it should not be too radically different.

everything i read about it is to be decently familiar with the book BEFORE class, and you can keep up without massive homework/study time at night.

Yeah I spoke with students and they are not having a problem keeping up. I do want to get the book ASAP so I can start on it. There are a bunch of chapters I can skip though because of nursing. THanks for your help.

You don't happen to know the name do you?

nope. i never asked. just call and ask, i dont see them having an issue with telling you, especially if you mention you are struggling with the cost. they offered to work with me a bit on the cost of the course.

Yeah I'll just ask. I feel like maybe they may want me to buy it from them. I could be wrong.
