Hi all,new to the site. I signed up for my NREMT test on July 13th.hope it goes well lol...

anyway, when i was doing one of the many ride-alongs i signed up for in my class..we came across a patient who was on a BIVAD (bi-Ventricular assist device) which was pretty awesome. The flight medics who we were assisting, were transporting the patient to Houston for a heart transplant. No one knew how this machine operated as it was brand new to the state and she was the first one to have one (even the CEO of the BIVAD company visted her). The machine was huge, there was a pump attached to the patients leg that fed through the femoral artery up to her heart that pretty much did the work of her heart.

Thought I would share this as I thought it was pretty cool.
Anyone else come across something like this?
