I'm looking for an accredited online degree either an associates or bachelors For already certified paramedics? Any info will be greatly appreciated... Please keep opinions on online education to yourself...it works for me:)
Thanks

An AS or BS degree in what?

Im considering this course.. The only crappy part is it is online but it's still as slow as going to class...im looking or something a little more high speed... It's a great course but it's almost three years..it would be great if it were self paced...

Negative. It's actually self-paced. Guys have taken as long as 6yrs and as short as a year and a half. (as a qualifier, This is where I got my medic; quite familiar with the course and instructors)

Oh.. Interesting.. I was under the assumption from talking with the director over the phone.. That you have to schedule just like a regular class and you can finish all the coursework prior to the end of the semester but you can't speed it up..must of heard wrong.. I will call again to verify. Also have you heard of anyone using the degree for a PA program?

The semester is a full-length semester, yes. You can't finish a semester in a month. But you are not limited to the number of courses you can take per semester. If you have any experience or done any self-learning, you can easily knock out more courses per semester than the 15ish hrs they have listed. So heard wrong, no. Misunderstood, maybe slightly :) Talk to Komorn or Sippel.

I have not heard of that being done, but I am debating it myself. I don't see why it would be an issue though. It's a legitimate Bachelors from an accredited school. So as long as you have the pre-reqs required for admission, I don't see why there would be an issue.

I am in an online BS Public Safety program from university of maine at fort kent. It is geared for EMS, Leo, and Fire. http://www.umfk.edu/safety/administration/

pro... is you pay in state tuition for the online degree and they will transfer in credits from your medic program.

con.... it is set up like regular university classes so it can be a bit drawn out.

I'm considering trying to use it for a PA program. Just keep in mind, there are a lot of lab science classes that will also have to be taken to satisfy the pre-req's.
