As the title says, im currently in a EMT course and so far everything has been pretty straight forward and not difficult, however i have no medical background and i must admit im struggling a bit with the vocabulary and the medical terminology. Sometimes im overwhelmed by the amount of information we can cover in one day and its hard to keep up. Any tips on how to cope with this and what i should focus my studies more on. Like they were telling us that the most important thing to go over is patient assessment how true is this? And how hard is the state exam, im in NYC btw.

Remember your in emt school. It's not med school. FOLLOW THE LOGIC. Air goes in and out blood goes round and round. Anything else. Fix it. For medical terms. There's umpteen thousands of resources online(I know because I used them) such as quizlet. Study flashcards. Or even browse around on here you learn quite a bit

Welcome to the forum!

Personally, I have found that it is easiest for me to memorize information in small chunks at a time. For example, I would make flashcards for whatever terms i needed to study, and memorize 5 of them. When I had those 5 cards memorized, I would add 5 more, and so on. Ultimately, you will need to find a study method that works for you. Also, there are many resources available on youtube and other places on the internet. https://www.youtube.com/user/TheAnatomyZone has great 3D anatomy tutorials that helped me immensely when I was taking classes for Pre-Med.

If you ever have any questions, please feel free to shoot me a PM. I would be more than happy to answer them anytime.
