Sickening; a disgrace to the profession.

How do you come to that conclusion from the very limited information -- mostly speculation -- that was given in this article?

I'll wait for followup stories to find out if the driver didn't realize it, if they panicked afterward, or if it was in fact an ambulance and not a truck full of hams. Has anyone else watched "Slings and Arrows"? If not, you should.

If it's true that he ran him over and knew about it, then I'll stand by what I said.

If he didn't know he ran him over, then I'll withdraw my statement.

What do you call it? Wellfare reduction

Oh sorry I'm so insensitive today :)

Seriously though, the story is lacking some details it seems...

Oh, and sleeping in a driveway? Come on, what do you think would happen...

I've been to a whole lot of auto-peds in my career where drivers never even knew they ran over a human being. It's not at all uncommon. You put a tired crew in an ambulance, driving through a dark alley in a bad neighborhood at 3am, the driver busy texting his boyfriend, and the passenger asleep, and suddenly there is a bump under the ambulance... is your first thought going to be that someone must have been sleeping in the middle of the road? Or are you going to simply keep on driving, thinking "I wonder what that was?", and reasonably assuming that it was probably just trash?

Yes, I have to give this crew a huge benefit of the doubt on this. It'd be funny to find out that it was actually a FD ambulance that did it though!
