Make some hot (not quite boiling) water. Remove the hardware from the tubing. If that took the kinks out, turn off the burner or make tea and put the scope together without twisting the tubing.
Otherwise, you want to prepare to hang the tubing with a about a pound of weight hanging from it. Heat the tubing until it just begins to get soft then quickly hang it and leave it to cool. Don't try passing the tubing over a burner.
I like the permanent pigtail kink in mine, makes it easier to put away, and I don't wear them around my neck for safety reasons.
