I am currently an EMT-B and an engineering student. I am not planning on going to medic school anytime soon but I would really like to know more.
Could somebody please recommend me:
1) a good A&P book to read on my own; phonetic transcriprions of terminology would be a huge +, as I am not a native English speaker.
2) a book which would explain ALS interventions to a BLS provider. I have read chapters on assisting an ALS provider, but would like to know more why medics do these intervantions.

A&P for dummies is fine for getting the jist of it.

We used 'Anatomy & Physiology for Emergency Care' for the pre-req A&P course the medic program I'm attending required. Though it is an actual text book and not as much as a supplemental text. It's geared toward pre-hospital healthcare. It has clinical notes, explains some interventions (though not many), Starts with basic cell structure and works it's way through the organ systems
