Our area was hit by high winds, then heavy rain, causing widespread flooding and slips, which closed major roads throughout our region yesterday.
My own home was in fear of being flooded..the water lapping an inch from our floorline. On top of this...it was not until this morning that I read about this incident an hour's drive South of where we live.
We were like enough for the earthquake not to affect our region...guess God had other plans for us.-_-

Story as attached:

Prays going out to the injuried paramedic's.....just as well our ambulances are lighter than yours in the US.

I could not get the link to come up.
But will have them in my thoughts and prayers.
Did your house have any water damage?

Sorry the link didn't come up for you foxfire...it maybe only available in NZ??
In short...a wind gust blew over the ambulance the paramedic's just alighted from to attend an MVA. They were both pinned under it.
Lucky a passing truck had a winch, which they used to pull the ambulance up off the women. One paramedic was having surgery for her fracture ankle...not sure of the injuries to the other paramedic.

Re our flooding....No the water was under the house...missed coming through the floor boards by about an inch, so we were very lucky.

Glad to hear that your house was spared.^_^
Thanks for giving the run down.

Blessings to you, yours and everyone else affected!

Glad to hear your house was not flooded nz. Floods are terrible. I have not experienced one, but my disaster relief team has worked plenty of them. Nasty work afterwards.
