I'm looking for a signs and symptoms with treatment ref. book and was wondering if anyone knew of some good ones. Found some on Amazon but would like to hear of any others. Thanks

We run Medix rigs with a few McCoy Millers and the Medix don't hold up. They look nice, but they go to crap fast. They are always needing repair. Some are better then others depending on engine and style, but in all I would stay away from them. They won't hold up long on rough terrain.

Are you being labeled as first aide, first responder, or just assisting what on duty medical they have? You may have to do an actual PCR.

Also in my area basics can only assist with the PTs meds. Basics can't go into the ALS bag and grab Nitro to give, even if the PT is prescribed nitro. Has to be out of their bottle

For LOC, PT has to be alert and able to swallow. Can't put oral glucose in their mouth if they can't swallow. If they're unconscious putting anything in their mouth could become an airway problem. In my area basics can only assist, so that would mean the PT is A&O.

That school will allow a CPR only to go through Paramedic school? I thought the standing pre req was EMT-B cert. I don't know of any EMS agencies that will pay for a CPR/1st Aid card. Volly squads would allow it, but it's vollunteer of course. So you don't have Basic card?

One summer... Wow. My class is 2 years for Para. I know there are bridge programs where you can become a Paramedic in a much shorter time. I think It's 6 months, but it maybe a little less. One of the Pre for that is you have to be a Critical Care(lvl 3/medic) for a min. of 3 years.
