And now academic paramedics with 5 years of experience can go on and become PA's. So tons of good medics leave.

Why are Paramedics paid so little?

In Israel, we face quite the same difficulties. We are in the process of turning the profession to acdamia-based. Currently 66℅ of the paramedics working in the field have a degree (b.ems or other relevant degree). But the problem still exists, the job is hard and medics are overworked. The last...

    Hyperkalemia Call Review

Awesome case, i really like these cases, true emergency medicine. Yea i guess you could throw an albuterol/ salbutamol neb but like others have said and from what i was taught, this is not whats gonna save that patient. The monitor strip, classic Hyperk- extremely wide QRS too slow to be vtach.

    CPAP in ASTHMA? Absolute contraindication?

    CPAP in ASTHMA? Absolute contraindication?

Our protocols allow cpap for asthma patients, but paramedics usually dont really go for it. The other day we had a sick asthma patient and we couldn't get a line started to give magnesium. So i was like lets cpap this guy. The paramedic tutoring me was like nah i dont do that. The em doc agreed...
