    IV certification??

With some states offering an IV supplement, its perfectly reasonable that an area could be hiring EMT-Bs with the IV supplement. Not saying its right or wrong, but without personal knowledge of the area, the OP's issue makes sense. Especially if he was nationally registered and took his...

    IV certification??

I'll add my perspective to this. I'm a basic-advanced, which in Indiana is considered the lowest level of ALS care. I can intitate peripheral IV access with NS, LR, and D5W, I can check BGLs, and use a 4 lead monitor, manually defibrillating VT and VF. I cannot give any further medications, and...

    Euthanasia

Opinion or not, you treat every patient to the same standard. Guess what, telling them its not an illness and telling them its their fault is the exact opposite of what should be done.

    Oral Screw

Sometimes, but its also a common sign of hypoxia. Haven't seen one of those on a truck...just in the back of the supply room. NP is the way to go, or a nasal intubation if you have a medic handy.

NFPA Wants to Draft New Ambulance Standards

It just points the lack of national organization for EMS. Fire has adopted EMS because apparently we can't fend for ourselves.

    Euthanasia

Can I ask why you don't? Because I'm really dying to know how someone could convince themselves of this.

    Euthanasia

Wait...what? By far the most ignorant thing I've read here recently.

    EMS Pants From Galls

Maybe I'm just unlucky. Either way, I'm trying out some of the 5.11 EMS pants right now. I like them, except they have a snap front rather than a button or clasp, which tends to unsnap every time I lift. Other than that, they're great.

    EMS Pants From Galls

Stay away from the Elbeco pants. They fade out very badly, and the velcro is garbage.

Have you been vaccinated against meningococcal meningitis?

Had to have it before I started college, but probably would have gotten it anyway.
