    Family history of suicide

I don't tend to joke about these things because I know how these kids struggle but this one was just. ... Sigh. If you're gonna cut your wrist grab something sharper than a Christmas ornament hook. You'll maybe draw some blood then. I personally don't count it as a suicide attempt or even...

    Family history of suicide

This one actually had me questioning things and comparing my old job in mental health with EMS. Parents not there. Hospital transferred care. In mental health at age 14 they are able to sign for themselves in our state. They can also refuse treatment. Parents have no right to the...

    Family history of suicide

Actually, no. The concern is that there just doesn't seem to be an appropriate place to put this information as there is no "family medical history" option in our computerized charts. I guess I would place it in my narrative? Under HPI? PMH?

    An easy one?

Interesting... so what did the bcp have to do with things since it kept coming up? I was leaning toward side effect issues there, but I guess I have more to learn.

    Family history of suicide

Did interfacility psych transport for girl who tried to cut wrists (albeit very uneffectively but tried none the less). Hospital records state father is deceased due to suicide. For a psych transport this seems like relevent medical history but it's not HER history. Do I provide this...

Interested, yes. Able, no. I'm so poor that fleas think my blood is beneath them. Nook will be my first choice though so I have the lending/borrowing option. Must pay down bills first though. Sigh.

Well at least you're honest lol. I'm not a fan of equal punishments for mistakes and intentional acts of violence as tragic as the loss of a child's life is. I tend to look at intent before passing judgement and know we all have the potential to kill from stupidity at some point in our lives.

Correct me if I'm wrong but they don't revoke your licsense forever from my understanding. A long time perhaps but forever not that I'm aware of. Repeated offenses, refusing to learn from mistakes I could possibly consider this point of view but my body is not the property of anyone's to alter...

You would be surprised how many times parents over estimate the maturity level of their children. I'm quite certain sterilization is the last thing this woman needs. She just lost her baby and has no one to blame but herself. Let's not add insult to injury here. Secondly just because my mother...

I'm going to have to agree with fire on this one. She made a mistake. A fatal mistake and will live with it the rest of her life. All parents make mistakes. Most of us are lucky not to kill our children with those mistakes. But we all make them. Every single one of us.

Sitting up late, rocking a feverish baby, I realize...

Awe. Poor baby. I hope she's feeling better soon. I just don't even think to call an ambo. My 15 month old fell down an entire flight of steps because his sister left he gate open and he went running after her. Went to the ER to check for breaks, yes. Called 911? Nope. And when I...

Well, if I wasn't nervous about driving the Ambo in the winter, I am now. Coming home from my civilian job hit ice and couldn't get her back in control. Avoided the embankment but spun across highway into median instead. Lots of grass and snow to pad my fall.

In their defense it could very well be their only time with their families or they ma have job issues as well. I can not possibly volley at all right now.
