    "Ticker" box/RoadSafety-Do you have them?

We have had them on all of our units until our most recent aquisition of sprinter modules. The new trucks are equipped with Drivecam, which i'm still undecided on. The road safety is not used as a disciplinary item, only for use in accident investigation and driver training.

    Cutting Clothes

That is about the only time I try to save something is when cutting a rider's leathers. Go for the seams, or right next to it so they can be repaired, or if there are laces (like up the sides of pants/chaps) go for those as new lacing is easy to obtain And if youre cutting a jacket, make...

Reflective Vests on the Highway - 23 CFR 634

No they will not be grandfathered in, unless they meet the new standard as well. Ex...My issued traffic vest was compiant to the old standard and is also complaint to the new standard so it doesnt need to be replaced. Something like the blue jacket pictured above that may be compliant to the...

    EMT-B online classes in Atlanta

When I was in Intermediate school at Lanier Tech, we had a few people test out after 6 months at the basic level, before we started the Intermediate module. These were mostly FF's who just wanted the EMT pay or were required to be EMT by the county.

Reflective Vests on the Highway - 23 CFR 634

Because it may well be.... The new standard is ANSI 207-2006, and it would not be compliant with the new one

    Safety Topics ..........

Its not NFPA that mandated it (remember, NFPA is technically just a suggestion), it was the Federal Gov't in 23 CFR part 634 on the federal register: http://www.workzonesafety.org/files/documents/laws_regulations/federal/nov_24_06.pdf

EMT-B's in the state of Georgia?

Lanier Tech, Gwinnett Tech, DeKalb Tech, Chattahoochee Tech, Atlanta Metro Tech, the list goes on. Many of the Technichal Colleges in GA offer at least EMT-I, and many have medic as well, especially in more suburban areas.

    Getting pt. into ambulance

No, but if you hurt yourself while lifting said finger pain on the stretcher, then drop the stretcher, then they will get hurt. It's a very situation dependent thing to say weather you walk them out or don't, but if you have a minor complaint and are ambulatory, you're most likely gonnna walk out.

    Scene Times

No, not by anymeans is it the only factor in an assessment. It's just to confirm what you already suspect at that point. If they look like crap, they probably are sick. The pt's appearance, hx, co-morbid factors, etc all go into your assessment of that pt.

    Scene Times

Sorry, I should have elaborated on the STEMI time. The 10 minutes is from the time the 12 lead is done, which according to protocol should be within 5 minutes of pt contact on a chest pain pt. 10 minutes is plenty of time do preform many interventions. Divide and conquer is the way to...
