    Horrible time....need to chat :(

So... did it end up as a fight and he just walked out or did he just disappear on his own terns? Being a guy, Sometimes I know that there are times where I just want to take a break from it all and kinda be MIA for a while to get my s**t together so that I can come back totally refreshed and...

    Snacks!!!

We have a popeyes chicken next to a SNF where we pick up dialysis patients.... so the biscuts and mashed potatoes is a good snack. Muscle milks in a cooler are a good replacement for food and then there's traditional snack food like trailmix and the such.

AED use in a moving ambulance

Somehow, I think that it may be reffering to electrode interference with movement. This is commonly seen when I monitor telemetry at the hospital when patients move around and their leads get jiggled. That being said, I think perhaps that movement of the ambulance could cause a slight...

    Is EMS an honorable profession?

You know you bring up the word "honorable" which I'd like to define 3: performed or accompanied with marks of honor or respect 4a : attesting to creditable conduct b : consistent with an untarnished reputation 5: characterized by integrity : guided by a high sense of honor and duty...

    Horrible time....need to chat :(

Sorry for your loss, Our economy is tough and I know that having someone you love leave can just add extra stress on top of preexisting stress which isn't healthy of course. I'd recommend trying to do things that will distract your mind from the negatives, listen to music and "veg" out, go...

    Had a Code 3 80 YO M Pt. yesterday

Exactly what I was thinking. New onset AFIB could throw a clot and cause the lack of responsiveness. If it was me, High Flow O2 for Cardiac/Neuro, monitor and transport. If he was responsive and field stroke assessment had yielded a positive inclination for stroke, initial dosing of TPA could...

    Need career advice

You have to look at all the aspects to say the least. -EMS is not a high paid profession, compared to other aspects in the medical field. -You deal with family and friends in a whole other scenario as opposed to a clinical setting (people getting emotional and the sort) ...and many...

    low flow o2 and vomiting

I've heard that O2 helps Nausea/Vomiting & Pain. I know that many people will go Tachy or Brady when they vomit as well, which in turn could (minimally) reduce their SPO2 saturation. Personally, If someones condition is not contraindicated with giving O2, I'll give it. Never really hurts...

I was actually going to do this program as well. My friend is an AEMT and He said that he got the materials and started some of the work and the hardest part is the flying out to do the clinicals. I think it's best if you have many paramedic friends or other local Paramedic Instruction...
