    which clock ?

I got a calculator watch at walmart for a laugh. $8.99 or so. Yeah, you have to touch it if you want to actually use the calculator or the stop watch function, but it stays in my locker at work and gets washed whenever i wash my hands.

There is nothing more irritating than incompetent nurses...

I know we bill ours, as do most others that use it in the state, as a specialty transport and it is at a higher rate. That is for if a CCP or RN or RT or Doc comes along. I am not sure of its actually classification designation.

There is nothing more irritating than incompetent nurses...

What is with you and being down on the paramedic profession? You had a bad experiance as an emt? That sucks. The medics in your area suck? Thats unfortunate. As a "CCP" in the hospital based system at my part time gig, I make the exact same as my nursing counterparts. I also have the same job...

    Thank GOD I'm alive!

I actually do find it quite offensive that my individual beliefs are being referred to as a 'flaw' or 'coping mechanism'. Who are we to judge anyone especially our patients for their beliefs? Do I fault you for not believing? No. So please do not insult me for mine.

There is nothing more irritating than incompetent nurses...

Whoa there buddy.. I have the exact same college education that my associates degree level nursing counter parts have, me minus the nursing specific courses, them minus the paramedicine specific courses. Not every paramedic school is a tech school, or just offers a certificate.

    Tattoos

Im sorry, not to be rude, but you were 15. He was not your patient. You have never had a patient, as a non certified 16 year old. Did you help? I'm sure you have the guy a fighting chance. But, enjoy high school, ems will be there when you get done, and most likely (hopefully) has changed quite...

Don't let them take it! He may need it someday! That was my actual fear when mine was taken out at 16. In all seriousness, give him my best.

Does anyone carry a thermometer on their bus?

Also - I can't believe that your nurses don't write down a unit number or name. The nurse always takes my name, and I hers, as well as the doctors name who is taking the patient. It is considered standard practise here.

Does anyone carry a thermometer on their bus?

There is very little you just posted that I can or want to refute. Regarding temps and active rewarming, we do step increments in active rewarming, so as not to rewarm to fast or to warm, therefore temps are obtained. Did I know these patients were cold and needed rearmed? Absolutly. Would...

Does anyone carry a thermometer on their bus?

Please dont take offense But... Zmedic you are not and cannot be writing from a perspective of every system in the US. You obviously have no idea how many systems are run. We carry both temporal and rectal thermometers in all of our ambulances. Temperature is a good aide/indicator for many...

degrees for all paramedics 10 year plan

Oh I agree with you completely. Thankfully they did not allow them to practice as full medics, only called them medics. Which arguably could be worse, telling the public they are getting a medic when in reality you are getting an intermediate 99.

degrees for all paramedics 10 year plan

Ouch.. Come on JP that was low. After much headaches iemsa got the ' iowa paramedics' (or I99's to the rest of the world) to be phased out in the transitions to the new NREMT classifications. Eventually (next 6 years I believe) only recognize four levers. First responder, emt, aemt and...

Maybe this is a stupid question....

We do bp checks, glucose levels, and general welfare checks all the time. Free of charge. We advertise this service though, all have people call a non emergency office number to set it up. They are also welcome to stop by the garage for this service at anytime. If treatment is required (such as...
