For those interested (and who have access), there is a review article on Resuscitation Fluids in the New England Journal of Medicine. I haven't looked at it thoroughly yet. Can't seem to find it online for whatever reason. But it is in the Sept. 26th issue. (Vol 369 NO 13).

Yep, there is a big difference. However, quality field competence starts with strong didactic competence. It's one thing to do the field work, it is another to understand why, recognize what you need to do, and when you need to do it.

Depends what the history tells me to look for. Big items I hit with every neuro exam are mental status, sensory/motor in the extremities and face, gait (if possible/applicable). Add in stroke signs if needed, eyes (reflexes and movements), tongue/uvula deviation, shoulder shrug... All depends on...
