Heyyo! I'm Erik, I started my journey into the medical field as a vet tech as a teenager & young adult. I ended up getting my EMT certification, working as an patient care tech on a med-surg unit then psychiatric technician in multiple settings. I went to paramedic school, began working in a busy regional 911 service encompassing a big city, and have been working here for the last 10 years or so. I was in nursing school at this point, ended up starting in the emergency department at a large academic level 1 trauma center.

In my 8 years or so of being a nurse I've worked in a pretty diverse range of settings from ED, ICU, NICU/PICU, inpatient behavioral health, school nursing, and of course prehospital. ED & EMS will always be home though!
