    CA: ICEMA medics...

I know this post is over a year old, but I take the ICEMA test soon, and wanted some insight. I've memorized the treatment protocols, know the rest of the protocols decent, just wondering how the test will be.

is anyone here... hypertonic saline for the treatment of trauma

I believe Northern California (?) was testing 7.5% Saline with Dextran, a HIGH hypertonic solution with osmotic and oncotic pull for trauma patients. I heard it had very positive results on the patients. But this is something that was passed through the grapevine to me.

    American Professional Ambulance

Honestly it's up to what you want to do. Everyone is saying Bowers will treat you better. You might be a pretty new EMT so you're looking for the best paying job, but once you get more seasoned you'll find out that you want to be at more of a stable company that doesn't cut corners and treat...

    American Professional Ambulance

I personally say Bowers over APA but that's because I worked for Bowers for awhile. Bowers is definitely a really big company, especially now that they are owned by Rural/Metro.

    Driving Record

I have 2 speeding tickets and an accident within the past 3 on my driving record. I just got hired as a driver for a company in Southern California. Just keep trying, someone will eventually hire you. You might want to apply to private companies as an attendant EMT. Good luck though, don't give up!!
