(Not sure if this goes here, but I'll give it a shot!)

Have any of you seen this? What do you think of how they portrayed the accident?

I, myself believe it was a bit dramatic. I mean, the way the cars were impacted, just doesn't seem like someone could die from that small of an accident. I know that many people die in car accidents from drunk drivers, etc....but the way the crash in the video happened, I doubt the teens would have died from that The paramedics also said that the baby wasn't responding - but yet it didn't look injured at all? I think the point would of come across just the same had they made it that the teens were just unconscious.

I'm not a paramedic yet, so that's why I'm asking you all what you think of it.

In the backseat, you had human bodies flying into each other and the interior of the car. This is the same as what happens in the back of an ambulance with unrestrained people.

The girl driving took a direct side hit by the car t-boning hers.

The baby didn't study the script well enough or was just a bad actor.

BTW, this was not an actual crash. It is a dramatization. Its intended audience is the teenage driver who must text while driving.

The point is the shock factor for teen drivers so they know what could happen. Its the same with the mock drunk MVAs that local high schools do every year. For some it hits home and they change their reckless driving behaviors. For most, they think its a joke and laugh it off. That is, until they cause a severe accident.

I personally think it was well done.

Have you watched the movie Seven Pounds? It makes you think twice before picking up the cell....

That movie sucked. Probably will smith's worst movie.

It showed that identiy theft is ok if you're doing it for "good reasons" and that it's okay to kill people for organs.

I was only referencing the dangers of texting while driving (i.e. innocent texting while driving kills 7 people-lesson: think before you pick up the cell phone)...if you want to go deeper than that, that is your own thing...not mine... :)

I've been in the back of an ambulance with the driver texting - and it does not fill you with confidence.

That's when you TALK to your partner, and if that doesn't help, a call into the super.

It's not Ok to kill people for their organs? Oh....ummmmmm. I gotta go.

I guess I can't expect people to be able to separate reality from fiction anymore. I guess you make a point someone would go to that movie and think. "oh well I guess it's ok to do these things".

Not half bad... I believe it would be effective for teens to see that!

Seriously?! I have more I would like to say, but it would probably be inappropriate and likely a waste of my time.

There is a very good reason why more and more jurisdictions are banning the use of electronic devices while driving. Come this fall only hands-free cell phones can be used while driving in Ontario. Already it can be used to determine a charge of dangerous driving, but now it will also be it's own charge, even if there is no incident.
