Hello:

First let me say to everyone that I greatly appreciate and respect all the great work that all of you do.

I am currently writing a horror novel set in New York City. The main character of the story is an EMT for St. Vincent's Hospital.

Besides my online research and having talked to a few EMTs, there was one question that I forgot to ask. It has to do with a liquefied corpse.

I know that fire rescue and EMTs often refer to bloated, decayed bodies as "bloaters". Is there a term for a body that has exploded and become liquefied?

I thank you in advance for any help you may give.

Sincerely,
Ted Sterns

You could always make something up. As long as it's believable, no one will bat an eye. Only the grizzled EMS vets would notice, and even then they'd chalk it up to regional differences.

You can have this one for free, from one hack to another: How about a "Shop-Vac Transport."?

Firetender, I like that one! I'm gonna have to remember it for the people I work with that think nothing will gross them out. I can almost guarantee this will.
