Just a side note, I would give ANYTHING to be in a real EMS explorer program. The only fire explorer programs around here are non-EMS. And the medical explorer program is just a viewing thing, it's basically a one time tour of each area, from a distance. I signed up for it in November or September, but we only got through the organizational meeting before the H1N1 crisis closed all non-essential hospital visitor activity. So it starts again in March, but I really want to get invovled in an actual hands on, ride along, on scene EMS program. My uncle is the chief of the FD in my town, but he only allows 18 year olds who are already enrolled in an EMT class do ride alongs, as of a few months ago <_<
