What's up everyone. I'm new to posting, but I've poked my head here and there for a while now. Anyway, a little about myself: I'm a 21-year-old Paramedic. I've worked ALS for about 2 years now. I work full-time at a career fire dept with a career path hopefully ending in flight.

BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP 1-9, ITLS, AMLS, ASLS so far; more coming.

Looking into doing a UMBC CCEMT-P class here in the next few months followed by FP-C. Also, most likely will be doing excelsior RN online a short time after.

I spend a lot of my free time educating myself and researching trying to always become better and more prepared. Get ready for ton's of questions!

Here's a couple questions for you guru's out there, just to start off with ;)

  1. How do I go about finding/convincing a morgue/cadaver lab to let me come play with my intubation skills? (looking to get faster/more efficient)
  2. In regards to neonatal resus - I'm intrigued with how in-hospital care providers do the "transillumination" trick to quickly find/diagnose newborns with a tension pneumo.... Can this be done with a pen light? Has anyone done it?

Thanks!
