Louisana Paramedics?

Hello everyone I am considering moving down to Louisiana either in New Orleans area or on the Northshore. If you are in or were in EMS in LA I would really like to get some info from you. I am considering working for Acadian or New Orleans EMS. THoughts? Also how does the state certification work there?

Hi.
I've been wondering some of these same things myself.
I'm a New Orleans native but have only gotten my EMT-B since I moved to CA six months ago. I've been looking into it for my own info as I want to move back sooner or later and do the same thing.

I recently applied for my EMT-B license in LA. They have a National Registry reciprocity program, so as long as you're nationally registered you just have to provide a copy of your EMT certificate of completion, as well as some other basic things (high school diploma, driver's license, etc.).

I currently work for Acadian in Baton Rouge. It's a very good company to work for. Pretty flexible hours, a lot of opportunity for advancement. Check 'em out.
