Hello all
I'm a former EMT-I in Iowa and had a career change for about 5 years into restuarant management. I was unable to keep up with certification and so on so let it go and now I'm going back up the ladder.
My concern lately is how much I enjoyed EMS in Rural Iowa area , but all the training and to become a medic at around 10-12k in college and lots of time seems crazy with a full time job, family to fit in the fast 1 year program at my local school and 2ndly the pay is horrible for medics around rural Iowa vs me spending a little more time becoming an RN but the thoughts of a nurse kinda bother me.
I want the fast pace, excicment of EMS vs being in a hospital on a floor or slow ER or you get where i'm coming from I hope.
Whats suggestions do you have...
