GOVERNOR PAWLENTY ORDERS U.S. AND MINNESOTA STATE FLAGS AT HALF-STAFF IN HONOR OF TERRY LEE PEARSON -- January 7, 2005
Saint Paul -- Governor Tim Pawlenty today ordered that U.S. and Minnesota state flags be flown at half-staff at the State Capitol and on all public buildings and grounds on Saturday, January 8, 2005, in honor and remembrance of Terry Lee Pearson, a Roseau emergency medical technician, who passed away this past Tuesday as a result of an in-the-line-of duty ambulance accident.
The Governor signed a bill into law during the 2004 legislative session that requires the U.S. and Minnesota flags at the state Capitol to be flown at half-staff following the death of a firefighter, public safety officer or Minnesota military serviceman killed in the line of duty for a time period to be determined by the Governor.
