Closest Level III is Montrose about 1.25 hours no passes.
Closest Level II is Grand Junction about 2.25 hours no passes.
Closest Level I is Denver 3.25 hours over Monarch Pass
HEMS come from Grand Junction with alternates from Frisco, Durango, Colorado Springs, or Pueblo.
Large IFR capable regional airport takes fixed wing from Denver. (Also means you can catch 737s to the West Coast or Denver).
If you like outdoors, it is an AMAZING place to live, pretty affordable too. Hunting, backpacking, kayaking, rafting, skiing, snowmobiling, mountain biking, you name it! It gets cold in the winter.
I didn't mention that helicopter on purpose.There is a also a helicopter in Montrose I think.
