Today marks the Sullivan Mine tragedy, one of the saddest days in recent memory for the British Columbia Ambulance Service.
On May 17, 2006, paramedics Kim Weitzel and Shawn Currier went to work to do their job like they had done many times before, but tragically they never came home. Words cannot begin to express the extreme loss we all felt one year ago and continue to feel today.
Please take a moment today to remember our colleagues and friends and honour them for their ultimate sacrifice.
