Just sitting here waiting for my GI bug to get lost and this topic came to mind (don't ask)....Do folks look for it routinely in the field? Do sending hospitals include some mention of it when it might be clinically relevant?

Routinely? No, and no. Considering the patient types it's thought to be found in within the prehospital setting are (in theory) acutely ill, it's in my experience, something that someone may point out on a whim once the patients condition has been stabilized, either in hindsight, or as a matter of fact.

I don't really look for it. It'd be one of those moments I go "hey, that's a thing" and move on most likely.

If I suspect tamponade physiology I will evaluate for it, usually by watching the pleth wave for a minute but not really spend too much time on it. Doubt most facilities would mention it unless you are transporting an patient with an art line and it is really apparent.
