The textbook I have has that semi gloss paper so when I underline or make notes in it, it smears. Anyone know of a pen that wont smear?

Get a highlighter for the book and then a notebook for the notes....?

I use a highliter as well. I like to underline for extra emphasis and by notes I mean adding marginal notes not full on lecture ones.

Notebooks can handle marginal notes in addition to full on lecture notes.

Just a suggestion which you asked for...take it or leave it.

I never had a problem with cheap bic pens. Plus they write on gloves beautifully.

I can completely see how Bic pen would be pretty challenging to operate...
