HealthEast Medical Transportation is hiring paramedics for its growing 911 and IFT service. HEMT is based in St Paul, MN (Twin Cities) and responds to 911 calls in Dakota County which includes multiple suburbs south of St Paul. HEMT also provides interfacility transfers between 9 metro hospitals and dozens of skilled nursing facilities throughout Minneapolis, St Paul, and the suburbs.
HEMT is a busy, fast-paced, dynamic service looking for medics that will be the right fit for our customer service-oriented operation. Shifts are mostly 12 hours with occasional 10s and 8s possible. We use SSM so there is a lot of moving around between calls...although slow periods do exist.
Relatively new fleet (multiple 2013 trucks), LP15s, Stryker cots - mostly powered, LUCAS 2 on many trucks, tablet computers for PCRs, online scheduling system, quarterly mandatory and voluntary education that counts towards recert, in-house education department with guest lecturers, and very progressive protocols (DFAM, CPAP, field-activated STEMI and Stroke, very little medical control authorization required.) Our medical director is nationally known and heavily involved with staff and continuing education.
Staffing is mostly medic-medic with some medic-EMT shifts. We also have our own EMT-EMT division that handles BLS interfacility calls. All medics are trained on ventilators and infusion pumps. Opportunities exist for promotion into Field Training and Critical Care. HEMT is pursuing a community paramedic program as well.
Competitive starting pay. The posting has been up for awhile so it probably won't last much longer.
