I’m looking for some ideas for a holiday gift my line officers. I have a captain and three lieutenants. Last year, I gave them a nice rechargeable flashlight, a gift card, and a handwritten card thanking them for their contributions over the year. I’d like some thoughts for this years gift. Anyone got anything?

No outerwear, custom radio straps, or knives.

Some sort of "gourmet" snack or beverage sampler -- e.g., tea, coffee, cookies, honey, beer, nuts?

Recreational books, EMS or otherwise?

You're a good guy.

Multitool? Steel mug/water bottle? Rechargeable headlamp? All weather notebook with some nice pens? Mobile power banks?

Pizza party!

One shears are good too. And they can be custom laser engraved.

I was thinking an engraved multitool. Or a power bank…that’s a cool gift.

Home Depot has a Ryobi set of screwdriver bits and Allen bits. Less than $10.00

Dunno what your budget is, however I was recently gifted an O Light. This is a great pen with weight to it, rechargeable USB/holder, it has a laser on it, has a light for pupil checks, and also has a light down near the pen nib so you can see what you are writing in low light or no light situations.

The O light looks slick and has great Amazon reviews. Cool find!

I would say whatever you get them, it should be engraved/branded with your agency name. This way it also doubles as a marketing item.

Other alternatives: a nice padfolio, which is great for taking notes in meetings or when at educational places. I have one I got from a college, and it goes with me everywhere.

30oz tumbler with agency patch engraved on the mug; bonus points if you can get each customized with their names.

Since you have 4 officers, maybe look at items that you think they would each find useful or something they have been on the fence about getting for themselves rather than the same for all of them. That would show that you listen to them throughout the year.

On a side note, I remember one agency I worked for many years ago gave out a frozen turkey and a thank you note at the end of shift to every employee on the Monday before Thanksgiving. There's something to be said about giving out gifts that show appreciation for staff and their families.
