Hi guys, I'm preparing my portfolio of certs and stuff so I can apply for a job soon. I was wondering, what is the difference between a commercial class c license and an ambulance driver's certificate? Which one should I test for?

Thanks in advance!

My guess? California.

They're most likely making reference to your CDL. It is not a commerical drivers license as most ambulances I know of (even our bo-hemoth) don't exceed the weight capacity to warrant a commercial drivers license.

Assuming you already have your CDL you can, and will take a test for your Ambulance Drivers Certificate with the DMV.

That said, I wouldn't worry about it until I've actually landed whatever job it is I am (you are) seeking. Typically your employer will reimburse you, and might provide a "study guide"; AMR used to.

Edit: CDL= California drivers license.
