Do you think EMS will change how to deal with a twisted ankle?

No cause of death was given, however Hollywood Reporter said it was due to a blood clot in his ankle.

...

According to TMZ, the Australian-born singer saw a doctor on Thursday complaining of pain and swelling in his leg after twisting his ankle and was later sent home.

He was found unresponsive at a friend's apartment on Friday and was pronounced dead at the scene.

There is almost certainly more to this than we are being told, but I am curious if the new standard of care for a "twisted ankle" will include DVT screening.

Pre-hospitally, no. If someone calls 911 for a twisted ankle, then they're probably going to end up getting a ride to the ED anyways. Once in the emergency department, the physicians will appropriately screen for and rule out DVT.

How many swollen "twisted" ankles would have to be imaged just to find one clot. How many would have to be found to prevent one death?

This sounds more like a highly unusual bad outcome of a common injury and not a result of bad care.
