I don't believe it has made me and closer or farther away from God, but I believe that my faith has helped me come to terms with alot of what we deal with.

Nothing could possibly make me less religious as there’s no more room in that direction, and nothing I consider likely or even possible could make me more religious, all irrespective of my occupation.
EMS made me less religious and pushed me more politically leftward, though my guess is that's because I already trended that way to begin with. Religion was never a big enough part of my life for me to notice a huge change though.
There are plenty of people who had the opposite happen to them while working in healthcare/public safety, so I think a lot of it depends on the person.
