AMR Scenario for skills test!!

I went to an AMR skills test. I got a critical failure because I did not verbalize the contraindications for a bipolar traction device. I also have a question though....

If you walk up to a scenario where there is a pt that's a trauma do you start at the patient assessment or go straight to the trauma part of possibly do a hybrid trauma that only includes ABC's... I know the trauma assessment is part of the pt assessment but I'm not sure how to approach it.
Also keep in mind I am in LA county and we have our own skills book. NREMT may be different.. Thx ya'll

Start from the beginning...scene safety, bsi, additional resources etc.

This is a test after all.
