Fortunately, no one was seriously injured. I know there is a hospital on the corner of the intersection they were at. There are also three nursing homes relatively close to that intersection. Care is one of the private services in the area, and if I had to guess, they were most likely on their way to one of the ECFs for an "emergency" transport.

Ambulance involved in crash on east side

Police say a Care Ambulance was on a run northbound on Ritter Avenue when it stopped at a red light at the intersection with 10th Street. The ambulance stopped and waited for the intersection to clear and then proceeded through when the driver thought it was clear.

A flatbed pick-up truck with a trailer was westbound on 10th Street, didn't see the ambulance and couldn't stop. The pick-up struck the ambulance on the passenger side.
