So its been a couple of years since a similar thread was posted. I am hoping to attend more conferences this next year and I won't be surprised if more conferences have an online option. What are the conferences that you have heard about or are looking to attend for the 2021 calendar year that are EMS/CCT/HEMS related? I would love to have a "master list" that contains links so forum members can easily go to the conference pages and decide if the information looks interesting or relevant to them. This is my list so far:

FAST21: https://www.fastsymposium.com

EMS World Expo: https://www.emsworldexpo.com

AMTC: https://aams.org/events/amtc/

EMS Today: https://www.emstoday.com/

CCTMC: https://cctmc.net

CFED: http://www.cvent.com/events/cfed-co...-3d2d0b1f71f043f28bbe04d3cd70edff.aspx?dvce=1

Almost every state has its own EMS conference. Two of the big ones that I am hoping to get to (if they don't get cancelled again) is Connecticut's EMSPro and Virginia's EMS symposium. I've been to both before and they did not disappoint. I'm also hoping to go to Wisconsin's EMS Expo, as I have heard good things about it. And Alaska's Southern Region Emergency Medical Services Council - Symposium because I have never been to Alaska, and would make a vacation of it.

Truth be told, I've been to the JEMS/EMSTODAY conference, and while it had some good speakers, I thought it was not worth the price tag. I've also attended the Atlantic City Trauma Symposium, Mass Gathering Medicine Summit, and a couple other specialty shows, and while I learned some stuff and enjoyed the experience, I probably won't be back due to the low return on investment.

A lot of the regional conferences have equally top-notch speakers, without the overhyped expenses.

If things go well in 2021, I'm speaking at several, including EMSpro in CT. (I can see mom and dad!) and a handful of others. I hope to see some of you out there!

it's been a few months since this thread started, but my proposal to speak at EMSWorld down in Atlanta was accepted! and I will be able to attend EMSPro in CT, so that should be a good time.

I also might be going to the Vital Signs conference in New York (I think, I'm not entirely sure yet), but will be doing a lot of travelling in October and November.

I’ve turned down several speaking invites that I was accepted for and then told it was virtual. I’m not into doing the virtual presentation thing. I’ll wait til we’re all back in person

Interesting comment, I was the same way initially but then realized education is still needed and you actually can reach more people since it is virtual. No telling how long all this stuff will last and it has been a nice challenge to figure out different ways to reach a virtual audience. I was the same way you were at first, but there are still people who need the education. Even when things move back closer to in person there will still be a strong virtual component for extended future. As we all know, there is nothing permanent except change!

Once your content is available in a recorded format, it loses its unique value. I’ll stick with in person conferences.

As a general rule, I don't want any of my presentations recorded. I did give one a few weeks ago that was virtual and had 400 attendees, and it was recorded and available on-demand for 60 days after, for those who couldn't attend. They also weren't charging attendees to attend and paid me for my time, so I was ok with it.

But I also agree, I prefer in-person conferences, and, as a presenter, am not a fan of talking into a webcam. The communication is a lot better and interactions with the audience are much better.

I also don't want any of my in-person presentations recorded, especially by a conference that will charge people to see my work, without paying me anything additional. For every presentation I create, it's AT LEAST 4 hours of work to do the initial work, not including updates and corrections/omissions, and not including local-specific additions. That's time away from my day job, time away from my family, and time that I could do spending doing other things

I don't know about you, but my time is valuable, and while I agree with the premise that education is needed, I also know that if I put something on youtube for anyone to view at any time, then there is no reason for anyone to pay for me to deliver the content live and in person. while I have done free presentations when I was first starting out, and have a select few that I will do again under certain circumstances, if you don't charge for your work or receive compensation then people tend to believe that it has no value.

I’m presenting at EMSpro but haven’t submitted for anything recently. Honestly, I’ve been far to busy with other projects and classes and as conferences flip flop back and forth between live and virtual, I’ve honestly lost interest. I’ll be at national fire academy starting February 14th for ALS HazMat though. If anyone is around… I’ll buy you a beer at the command post.

I won't be at the NFA, but will be at EMSPro... is that beer offer still good?

I'm offically registered for the AC Conference in November. It's going to be my first EMS conference so I'm a bit excited.

That’s a fun one. I won some money in the casino and and had a great dinner with friends at the last one I went to.

and I just checked out the course catalog, apparently, a photo of me snuck in from last year (page 16, that's me in my orange hoodie).

looks like a decent speaker list, including several that I know personally and/or used to work with... highly recommend you check out Matthew Streger, Rob Conklin, Dr Abo, & Jarrod Broadway, as well as any topic that appeals to you. If you want to learn something new, Daniel Gerard has some interesting topics, but definitely find topics that interest you.

Oh I have everything picked out. Going to give myself one break where I don't have any lectures to go to. So choose from. I decided to take a mix of BLS and emergency preparedness which includes two pediatrics and one about a program that's designed to cut down on repeat overdose patients. Any of you going?

Oh yeah, all 1/18th of you in that pic. :p
