I am taking a first aid class just for giggles and can use it as an elective for my EMS degree... While looking through the book before the class starts I stumbled on a thing about first degree burns. It says to not use any type of OTC burn cream/spray (waterjel, or anything with "caine") on it...
Luckily most people that need a epi-pen, let us know they already have one just incase. I've seen on the FL DOH site that there is a Emergency Sting Cert which allows you to carry an epi-pen to use on others.
I work a festival at the Ocala National forest in Florida. Its held once in the summer and winter. My group is mostly FR's with one or two EMT's/PM's. As of now our first aid supplies are mostly donated so we get a lot of random things and trying to get it organized is a hassle. I wanted to post...
For your first renewal, you only need a current CPR card at the time of renewal and you also need 2hr HIV/AIDS CEU. Then pay the 20 bucks for the renewal on the website. After that you need all 32hrs of CEUS and CPR to renew.
Found this in the amublance lot while switching trucks...
The funny thing is I would of never though of this person as a whacker in a million years...lol
I think FHP is going to get away with this one. There are alot of abandoned cars in FL. If he wasn't in the immediate area then there is no reason the trooper to suspect there is still a person there. The article made it seem that he was ejected pretty far. I would venture to opinion that he...
As you heard correct, you don't need CPR to start. They gave us time to get it as they do for you. Yes, that is the clinical guys name. I am surprised he still works there, because I thought they let him go.
Good links, I am going to have to try and find another way to get my license before moving there. Companies are reluctant to hire peeps with no VA license.
Hmm, its like that down here too. Saturation of the market is the mother of fecal wages. Lots of people with random degrees coming into EMS for lack of jobs.
48hrs every two weeks...there has to be something suspect about that...lol.
Oh I would like to add most of this is with the company that is not FL hospital. All the transports for FL Hospital are usually paid by FL hospital and rarely use medicare.
