Does anyone know of a protocol out there for rehab of participants in an event during high activity level? I'm looking for something that's like IV fluid for fire personnel during a fire rehab. Just want to see if any agencies have a protocol similar to what I'm talking about.
I'm looking for copies of any agency protocols that have eleminated transporting on backboards. Also if anyone can point me to some good studies.
I'm going to try to take this to my medical director and see if I can get rid of these stupid aniquated things. We currently have selective...
Thought this was pretty cool. Speak directly with a doc from onboard a commercial flight.

Do you have the ability to RSI your patients? In my area this seems to be a golden goose that every medic seems to want, but the medical directors are very afraid. What is it like in your area?
When do you consider treating hypertension?
I had a call for a 67 yo make who called 911 for confusion. Pt was not sure why he was checked into a hotel, and didn't know what city he was in. Denies any pain, dizzy, or SOB, and stroke FAST is negative. After contacting his wife, we learned he...
Today I was offered a very non-traditional job as a paramedic. The job is overseeing procedures in a doctors office, performing conscious sedation, and managing pre op and post op LPNs. I'm very excited, I'm taking an RNs position, and am a little nervous about living up to the standards they...
Requested by the BLS truck to respond to an MVA rollover with 2 patients onboard. After 45 minute response time, we arrive on scene to see the driver getting put into a patrol car and the EMT is getting a refusal from the passenger. When I got out of the ambulance the patient's truck was on its...

I just got back from a five and a half hour interfacility transport. It took us almost twelve hours total. What is the longest transport you all have been on?
I start my first medic job on monday, and I'm very nervous. Its a job for a private indian hospital that is a part of a large tribal nation. The job is mostly interfacility, but do 911 ALS back up for the reservation (EmtI 85 is highest level that they have). I am to be one of two paramedics...

Don't mean for this to turn into a POV lights/siren argument. Based on the article, its hard to see things from the cop's point of view. Seems like he just didn't want to stop the "pursuit".
Does anyone know of any resourses for detailed exams? Im looking for a list of easy to do (can be done in the field) tests that are very specific (ie: Hepatojugular reflux sign, thompson test, cullen sign, ect) im looking to make a resource booklet for a more detailed physical.
You're driving the ambulance. Your partner is your boss (captain, chief, ect). You're going code 3 to a call after dark. The road conditions are less than favorable. Your partner is visibly irritated with how slow you are driving and tells you to drive faster; but you don't think you can safely...
