It is looking like I will be living across the narrows. We're currently looking for houses in gig / Port orchard / bremerton and near Bangor (Since my wife is getting stationed there and this is a military move / though im from here as well lol)
Im getting ready to send off my Oly application...
Yeah good point, Can't hurt if they say "Oh you need your WA state driver license" Than ill be like okay and reapply lol..
TriMed is ghetto fabulous? hahahahahahahaha. Thats funny.. Well good thing I was born and raised out of Lakewood / Tac town soo I know ghetto
Yeah I was looking at either Olympic or Tri-Med as both seem to be the only ones websites that still take applications.
Unsrue if I should put it in now. I don't have a Washington State EMT Cert / Nor a WA state drivers license yet. Im still in Virginia with Virginia certs / Driver license ha.
ok. so either hired or sponsored. How does sponsorship work ?
And with that I can still send off the package minus the 'agency/sponsorship' part and just have to get hired / sponsored before it gets approved?
So I'm getting my package together for WA reciprocity since I'll be moving to the state next month. I've called a few times to get some questions in but still getting confused. Any of you current WA EMS individuals willing to give me some answers.
On the package in regards to...
I aint scared to ask a old question! Sure there mite be some old post with some decent information in it, But new things pop up from other posters. Forums is just a place to talk. So why not talk?
Like for example after using the search bar, I didnt find anything that NUEMT posted in regards...
I figured I'd post to see what books people read up on frequently or recommend for newbies.
I'm a EMT-B , Looking to work on a rig for awhile as well as working on my pre reqs for Nursing school.
I already go over my Textbook from class and other sources / notes I have but I know for example...
Looking into several of the Ambulance companies in which yall listed, Getting ready to put in applications probably in June-ish (I will be in WA late June) As well figuring out which school to attend to get my CNA or NAC as WA state calls it. From what I was told all the ED/ER techs in WA that...
I don't think I would mind being a Nurse, Perhaps i need to get a job as a ER tech to get a better feel for it. I did a shift in the ER as a tech for school and I loved it.. Definitely a bit more 'layed' back even though I was in the ER and **** was going.. Still in my opinion a lot less...
You're right. Nurse doesn't seem like a bad gig and the pay is definitely worth it in the long run. Firefighting pay wise isn't great compared to a Nurse but being a FF would be awesome. I got a fwe months to figure out what i really want to do.
Im actually considering this option now. Ive been back and forth inregards to Nursing.. As its a lot fo school and Ive never been to fond of school. But being that FF jobs are hard to come by as it is, I figure I could go where the pay is at to provide best for my family. Still a lot of thought...
I was also curious to any of the Fire / medic types here. What sources could I use to get a head start on FF1? I already have my firefighting background from the Navy and its Damage control handbook, but I know shipboard firefighting is different than civilian in some ways.
As for WA I hear I...
I did consider going the RN route, Idk though.. I mean I know being a RN pay wise is hella a lot better than what I'll be getting into, But unsure if its going to 'drive' me. EMT/Paramedic/Fire is something I feel I have a passion for. I rather stick to that passion first ha
