I signed up for emtprep.com and have completed one course so far and I guess I entered it right into the nremt website.
Is emtprep.com legit for recert?
also, are the 48 hours of "additional credit" required for recert?
thanks
I am expiring in March 2018 and need to begin to re certify.
What is the website used to take the classes and get the credits in order to put in for re certification?
thanks
I have never worked out there but im curious to know...considering their basic education. Do they do much? Or are they just support and drivers of the ambulance?!?!
So i just realized the FDNY ems has a July test this year rather than september. Problem is im only certfied in the state of PA.
Test is up on july 26th and says "must have nyc doh emt cert by end of application test date"
Is it too late or would they accept a nremt pa cert???

So, I have recently done my EMT-B training and want to go on to paramedic. I am going to try out volunteering as an EMT first to see if i like it an then go from there...

Still trying to get a feel for what I wanna do with my EMT cert...and Im pretty sure im going to go back for my Medic license!

Just wondering...
Ive always considered it but i never wanted to go in as enlisted - always wanted to be an officer.
But, say you are working for FDNY EMS as a medic, and your in the Military reserves doing your one weekend a month and 2 weeks out of the year. You would be receiving benefits...
So im starting a new job (non emt) that has an overnight weekends schedule. The schedule at all state career school is m-th 9am-2pm for I believe 14 months.

Didn't know Texas had beaches! And ****, Dallas is only 4-5 hours away for my beloved Cowboys games!
Anyone know what the real average salaries are per hour or per year for Galveston County, TX EMTs and Paramedics???
Might be jumping on a plane soon and finding a new home! :)
Now Ive researched a lot on it on google and it seems like the base of 60k a year will be a lot more than that due to "mandated OT" aswell as a 10% increase in the grave yard shift aswell as OT which I would gladly take as I love overnight work and have been working it for years in various jobs...
First off, Im currently in EMT school right now and will graduate in May 2015 in Pennsylvania.
I have been reading through these forums and stumbled upon a thread that stated something about FDNY EMT's getting a PAID TRAINING ACADEMY to become a paramedic!
Is this true? I mean, If I tried to...
Sorry for all the posts guys...trying to get some answers. :)
Anyways, I always had a love for NYC and i just looked into the FDNY Paramedic career and it seems decent. I that a hard job to get? How hard is it to get reciprocity from the state of PA? How much Overtime is available??? Do you get...
So after careful deliberation I have decided that PA/Med School is not for me.
This brings to Paramedic. If i chose to attempt to become a Paramedic, does an associates degree in adavanced life support help me anymore than a certification???
Especially if I plan to go back to college to get a...
Im currently in an EMT Certification class at my community college and am finding it very interesting and really enjoy the stuff im learning.

Im torn between going back to school for the paramedic program or nursing.
I personally think that Paramedic is a better job for me, but the money as a nurse seems to be more than double!
SO my question, in Philadelphia, PA area, how much money would I make as a Paramedic???
